SET: Sustainable Electric Transport project – National Transport Design Centre
At Motorcycle Live 2018 the NTDC will be conducting vital research on Sustainable Electric Transport to help provide design guidance for future designs in the e-Motorbike sector.
The National Transport Design Centre (NTDC) is a state-of-the-art facility, operating within the University’s Centre for Future Transport and Cities. Opened May 2017, the NTDC is designed to explore new areas of transport design research and find new ways to use existing equipment, as well as creating new technologies. It’s both provocative and surprising, ambitious and disruptive, creating real transferable outcomes and impact.
To maximise its effectiveness, the NTDC functions in a truly cross-disciplinary way, bringing designers, technologists, coders, together with artists, gamers, material specialists and fashion experts. It will use leading edge technology to create and refine new solutions. Coventry University is able to provide access to experts from across these disciplines feeding into the NTDC, as well as benefiting from the research and outcomes of the Centre.
The aims of the national Transport Design Centre can only be achieved through a singular culture which actively encourages exploration, playfulness and open-ended discovery.
