Custom Xtreme – Supported by Back Street Heroes
The Custom Xtreme Zone, supported by Back Street Heroes, proudly displays a vast array of choppers, bobbers, café racers, street scramblers, flat trackers, brats and rats from some of Britain’s best bike builders.
The winning bikes from the Chopper, Custom, New School Custom, Best Paint and Best Engineering categories will be on show and these are also detailed below.
CHOPPER: Owned by Tommy Docherty, and built for him by Destiny Cycles’ Vic Jefford – one of, if not the premier custom bike builder in the land – it’s based around a Suzuki Intruder engine, and features more hand-made, one-off parts than there’s room to list here!
James Rogers built this stunning Triumph custom by hand at home in his garage come workshop. To get this level of minimalism and cleanliness takes so much time, hiding everything away so that it can’t be seen to give a bare, spartan appearance.
Grub from Blackmarket Customs is an old hand at custom bike building and he built this tall, skinny wheel Sportster to be both a show bike and a rider. Never seen a chopper smoke up its back tyre? You’ve never seen Grub on his then!
NEW SKOOL CUSTOM:
Aled Corps is another who builds at home, and this gloriously understated Norton ES2 is another fine example of the custom builder’s art. It won far more votes in its category than any other bike, and looking at it you can easily see why!
Nick Hailes’ Night Rod Special was painted by East Coast Airbrush, and is even more in-yer-face in the metal!
Visitors can see many eye-catching creations that months of blood, sweat and tears have produced in the Back Street Heroes Custom Bike Building Championship.
Don’t miss the trophy presentation on Saturday 18 November at 11am. Expect best-ever deals on subscriptions, back issues, and brand-new lines of merchandise for Back Street Heroes and Streetfighters will also be on sale.
