We love a good bike start-up at Motorcycle Live! And have we had some great bikes filling the halls with their unmistakable sounds on various years!

For the visit to the Motorcycle Live Online Archive this time, we’re going back to 2014 to when the near-300hp Kawasaki H2R had just been unveiled at Intermot, Germany, and it was put on the dyno on Kawasaki’s stand at Motorcycle Live.

Every time the supercharged, liquid-cooled 998cc in-line four engine was started up and taken through the gears, the halls listened and crowds gathered at the spectacular sight – everyone knowing it was something pretty special! Priced at £41,000, the 2015 model certainly stood out from the crowd for all the best reasons.

The brand new high tensile steel trellis frame was dressed in some serious carbon fibre, the Formula 1 style wings on the aerodynamic fairings, were designed by Kawasaki’s Aerospace Company.

The Kawasaki H2 and H2R were here to stay and still form part of Kawasaki’s range today, click here for the latest incarnation of this beautiful bike.

Were you there in 2014? Do you now own a Kawasaki H2 or H2R? Be sure to head over to the Motorcycle Live social channels to tell us about it…
