Supporting cancer charities at Motorcycle Live
The UK’s biggest motorcycle show, Motorcycle Live in association with Bikesure Insurance, is aiming to raise awareness, and vital funds for three cancer charities this year – Prostate Cancer UK, Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research.
In the UK, around 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point in their lifetime, which could be 13,000 visitors to Motorcycle Live. The Prostate Cancer UK team will be offering advice and taking donations, on stand 3C52 throughout the whole nine-day show.
On Sunday 17 November, the Blackhorse Stage will play host to an extremely important auction – Joe’s Auction – which will give visitors to Motorcycle Live the chance to buy money-can’t-buy auction items to raise money for Joe Wakefield, and the Teenage Cancer Trust*. And finally, at the MCIA Gala dinner on Wednesday 20 November, Cancer Research will be the benefactor of the charitable activities that take place. Attended by over 350 people from the motorcycling industry the organiser’s hope to raise much needed funds.
Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of Motorcycle Live, comments: “Unfortunately, everyone has their own experiences of cancer – whether that’s personally or through friends or family. We’re extremely proud that the show attracts over 100,000 visitors, so we thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness – and monetary donations – for these three very important charities.
“Motorcycle Live offers something for motorcycle enthusiasts of all ages, so we wanted to work with three charities which resonated with every demographic that visits the show. We hope to raise as much money and awareness as possible.”
*25% of funds raised at the auction will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
