Revamped Custom Xtreme had the full support of  Back Street Heroes and Streetfighters magazines.  The display was dedicated custom motorcycles, hand-picked by the editorial teams. It was a great opportunity to see some of the year’s best cover bikes up close and personal. The first of which is:

Paul Milbourn’s Weird Fish

Weird FishENGINE: 2006 air cooled 4-cylinder Yamaha XJR1300, cylinder head fins extended and squared off, polished cam cover, one-off points cover, one-off disc brake engine sprocket conversion using Tolle disc and re-drilled Yamaha YZF600 twin-pot caliper, relocated and re-sealed alternator commutator, one-off stainless caliper /disc/sprocket cover, XJR1300 carburettors, one-off carb intake air filter covers in 1.5mm aluminium, gas boiler pipe petrol taps, XJR1300 ignition system, one-off 4-into-2 straight-through updraught stainless exhausts.

FRAME: One-off single downtube rigid, laser-cut two-piece bolt-together ‘sandwich’ design, two-piece splined steering stem lock.

FRONT END: 20” over stock yokeless forks, one-off stainless fork shrouds, one-off internal fork springs, 22mm stainless rockers arms with needle roller bearings, one-off aluminium fork leg spikes, solid 18” aluminium wheel rim machined from blank, 130/70 x 18” Avon Roadrider tyre, one-off hub covers, single Harrison Billet-4 pot brake caliper on one-off stainless mount, one-off laser-cut slotted disc in 32mm 403 stainless, one-off stainless tribal design torque arm, braided stainless brake line, rigid stainless brake line tube, one-off 32mm stainless handlebars, RST handlebar master cylinders/levers, internal throttle and brake line, one-off handlebar grips, Ford Puma headlight lens, one-off tapered aluminium headlight shell and satin black mild steel sidemount headlight brackets.

REAR END: Solid 18” aluminium wheel rim machined from blank, 300/35 x 18” Avon Venom-R tyre, hidden chain adjusters behind one-off axle covers, one-off stainless drive chain cradle/guard, one-off tapered dual aluminium taillight shells and sidemount number plate holder.

MISCELLANEOUS: One-off bodywork in 1.2mm mild steel, one-off petrol tank by owner in 2mm mild steel inside of bodywork, flush-fitting pop-up filler caps, one-off stainless solo seat, one-off stainless battery box with ground and shaped cover, 200-fin two-piece stainless oil cooler mounted to frame downtube, braided stainless oil lines, one-off ground and shaped stainless engine mounting plates, one-off stainless lower bash strip, one-off stainless footrests/controls with internal bearings, one-off stainless tribal design footrest mount with integral brake fluid reservoir, one-off stainless gearchange linkage, one-off stainless sidestand.

 ENGINE: 1951 500cc BSA Gold Star ZB bottom end, Gold Star DB34 top end, mirror-polished crankcases and covers, fully rebuilt and race tuned, ported and polished cylinder head, single 13/16” Amal TT carburettor, one-off high-level straight-through exhaust pipe with flared end in 1¾” stainless tube, one-off machined aluminium engine and gearbox plates, BSA M21 4-speed kickstart gearbox, open single-row chain primary drive, sprung sprocket primary chain tensioner.

FRAME: One-off single downtube steel swinging arm, 26-degree neck rake.

FRONT END: One-off upside-down forks and yokes, 17” Excel supermoto wheel rim laced to single-disc hub, one-off cable-operated hydraulic/mechanical disc brake system, one-off quad-spar handlebars and inverted controls, one-off machined billet aluminium speedo housing, bezel and headlight shell, one-off brass analogue speedo face insert.

REAR END: One-off chain-operated dual-shock swinging arm suspension system, one-off machined quad-spar swinging arm, 17” Excel supermoto wheel rim laced to hub, chain final drive, gear-driven brake pedal, ‘little red thing’ taillight.

MISCELLANEOUS: One-off fabricated combined petrol/oil tanks in steel, one-off filler caps to match steering stem nut, one-off machined interlocking central tank strap, one-off rigid-mount solo seat base/racing hump, one-off mid-mount footrests, pegs and controls, one-off sidestand with gas strut.

Engine: Bandit 1200, 1127 GSX-R barrels bored out to 81mm, Bandit cams, BST 34 carbs from 1052 Slabby, FBM plenum airbox/filters, Bandit crank, Bandit clutch, Bandit gearbox, Bandit 1200 ignition, BFT pipes, Scorpion can, FBM headers, twin IHI VF27 turbochargers, 210BHP.

Frame: 1985 GSX-R 750, widened at swinging arm pivot, new shock and linkage mounts, braced at rear and at headstock, Kawasaki ZX636 subframe, GSX-R 1000K1 footrests.

 

Front End: ZX636 forks, BFT yokes, ZX636 wheel, ZX-10R discs, ZX636 caliper, Goodridge brake lines, BFT handlebars, Motogadget mini clocks.

Rear End: Braced VFR 750 swingarm, R6 with 10mm preload spacer shocks, Antera alloy wheel, VFR 750 disc, R1 caliper, BFT torque arm.

Bodywork: Carbon ZX-10R front mudguard, modified GSX-R 750 petrol tank, recovered ZX636 seat, ZX636 tailpiece and mudguard. ZX636 LED tail light.
