GET ON – In Hall 4
Life’s Better on two wheels
If you’re thinking of getting on two wheels, or coming back to motorcycling after some time away from riding, start at www.geton.co.uk .
Get On wants to encourage more people to enjoy the benefits of motorcycling, and to welcome back those who have stopped riding but want to start again. That’s why we’re offering a free taster session to people who have never ridden before, or who haven’t ridden for a while.
Free Ride – what could I expect?
An experienced trainer will look after you, your instructor will give you a safety briefing and kit you out with a helmet and all the essential gear.
The practical session lasted about 20 minutes, and took place in the confines of Hall 4, protecting all participants against the winter weather. Visitors were introduced to the controls and learnt to get rolling and stop safely. Then visitors practiced changing gear, controlling the motorbike or scooter at low speeds, and riding around a simple course. At the end, feedback was given about your riding and the chance to ask questions about further training, how to buy a motorcycle, or anything else you want to know.
What’s the catch? There isn’t one. We know that once you’ve tried it, many of you will like riding and want to take it further. If you don’t, that’s fine. But if you don’t try it, you’ll never know.
Advice, information and a place to share your experience
As well as having a free ride, you can find lots of useful stuff on the Get On website. Read tips on safer riding, advice on what kit you need and where to buy it, and suggestions for getting more out of your riding. There’s an online community of new and returning riders, where you can share your photos and videos, ask questions of our experts, and tell us how your free ride went.
‘Get On’ is brought to you by the leading motorcycle manufacturers, dealers and other companies in the market, through the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA). When we say motorcycles, we include motorbikes, scooters and mopeds.
