MCL26 Show & Shine – Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the “MCL26 Show & Shine” competition (the “Competition”). In entering this Competition, any individual who enters the Competition (“Entrant”) shall be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these Terms.

Particular attention is drawn to clause 11 (Limitation of Liability).

  1. Introduction
    • The Competition is operated and organised by MCIA Events Limited (CRN: 02018191), whose registered office is at 1 Rye Hill Office Park, Birmingham Road, Allesley, Coventry, West Midlands, CV5 9AB (“MCIA”).
    • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  2. Eligibility
    • Entrants to the Competition must be:
      • aged 17 years or older at the time of submission of their entry; and
      • the legal owner or registered keeper of a motorcycle which is to be entered into the Competition.
    • Entrants may only make one entry, per motorcycle, with duplicate entries being discounted. Entrants are, however, permitted to enter more than one motorcycle into the Competition.
    • The Competition is not open to exhibitors at, or sponsors of, MCL26.
    • Entry to the Competition is free.
  3. HOW TO ENTER
    • Entries to the Competition will open at 00:01 on Thursday 23rd July 2026 and close on Friday 14th August 2026 at 23:59 (“Closing Date”).
    • To enter, Entrants must complete and submit the entry form available at: MCL26 Show and Shine Entry, before the Closing Date. Any entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.
    • All sections of the entry form must be completed to be accepted as a valid entry into the Competition. Incomplete entry forms will be discounted.
    • If an Entrant is found to have provided false information, they will be disqualified from the Competition and all entries made by the Entrant will be discounted. For the avoidance of doubt, the disqualified entrant will not be permitted to make new entries into the Competition.
  4. Selection process
    • All validly made and submitted entries will be reviewed by a judging panel formed of neutral industry professionals.
    • The judging panel will shortlist a maximum of 60 entries (the “Shortlisted Entries”) to be put forward to a public vote. The judges will be looking for those motorcycles with the “wow factor”, assessing condition, modifications, rarity and custom features.
    • Runners up will be entered onto a reserve entry list & reserve places offered in order of finishing position.
    • The judging panel reserves the right to make the final selection to ensure a balanced display if required.
  5. Public voting
    • The public will be asked to vote on the Shortlisted Entries, to help determine the 10 Entrants whose motorcycles will appear at MCL26 in November (“Show & Shine Winners”). Voting will be available via a link to be published on this page in due course.
    • Voting will open on Monday 31st August 2026 and close at 23.59 on Friday 11th September 2026.
    • Suspected fraudulent voting will be removed from the final count.
    • The judging panel’s decision is final.
    • No correspondence on results will be entered into.
  6. SHOW & SHINE WINNERS
    • Show & Shine Winners will be notified by email during the week commencing Monday 14th September 2026.
    • If a Show & Shine Winner does not respond within 7 days of notification, MCIA reserves the right to withdraw the Show & Shine Winner and select an alternative Entrant from the reserve list.
    • In addition to the prize of displaying their motorcycle at MCL26 on the Show & Shine stand, each Show & Shine Winner shall receive:
      • 4 x single MCL26 day tickets; and
      • 2 x MCL26 exhibitor badges.
    • Each Show & Shine Winner will be entered into the MCL26 ‘Best in Show’ competition, with the winner of ‘Best in Show’ to be selected using a public voting system open to all attendees at MCL26. This voting system will close at midday on Sunday 29th November, and any entries received after this will not be counted.
    • Show & Shine Winners must be at MCL26 on the afternoon of Sunday 29th November (timing TBC) to receive their trophy and any associated prizes (to be determined).
    • Prizes offered are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and may not be redeemed for cash or other alternatives.
  7. MCL26 Event
    • Show & Shine Winners must make their motorcycle available for the full duration of MCL26 and will not remove the motorcycles early under any circumstances.
    • Show & Shine Winners must be able to deliver or arrange delivery of the winning motorcycle to the NEC, at a time to be confirmed on Friday 20th November 2026. Delivery vehicles must not be left at the NEC following delivery.
    • All costs associated with transporting the motorcycle to and from MCL26, as well as any associated expenses (including accommodation, if required), shall be the responsibility of the Show & Shine Winners.
    • Entrants must collect or arrange collection of their motorcycles, following completion of MCL26, between 18:30 – 22:00 on Sunday 29th November. Show & Shine Winners must inform MCIA of the person or persons, if not themselves, collecting the motorcycle. Photo ID must be provided to MCIA personnel upon collection.
    • Show & Shine Winners may not enter the non-public areas of the Show & Shine stand during the show or interfere with their motorcycle or any other motorcycle in anyway whatsoever.
  8. Show & Shine Winners must comply with instructions of MCIA and / or NEC, and to respect other exhibitors, visitors and their property.
  9. Condition of the motorcycle
    • Show & Shine Winners must ensure that their motorcycle is clean and in display condition.
    • Show & Shine Winners warrant that their motorcycle is safe to move and all parts are secure.
    • Before the motorcycle enters the NEC, Show & Shine Winners must ensure that:
      • the motorcycle is free from leaks;
      • the fuel tank is empty;
      • any batteries are removed and / or cables disconnected; and
      • valuables are removed from the motorcycle.
    • MCIA reserve the right, at its absolute discretion, to refuse entry to any motorcycle deemed not to be in a safe and acceptable condition for display.
  10. Insurance
    • Show & Shine Winners are responsible for ensuring that their motorcycles remain insured for its full value for transit to and from MCL26 and for the full duration of MCL26, including but not limited to coverage for accidental damage, theft and third-party liability.
    • MCIA strongly recommend that Show & Shine Winners notify their insurers that the motorcycle will be displayed at MCL26.
    • MCIA confirms that it shall maintain public liability insurance, in respect of MCL26, of a value no less than £20m.
  11. LIMITATION OF Liability
    • The Show & Shine Winners acknowledge and accept that their motorcycle will be on display throughout MCL26 at their own risk. Nonetheless, the full extent of MCIA’s liability (however arising) under these Terms shall be as set out in this clause 11.
    • To the fullest extent permitted by law, MCIA accepts no responsibility for:
      • damage, accidents, deterioration or loss to motorcycles during display at MCL26, unless caused by negligence of MCIA;
      • costs or losses incurred by Entrants in preparing for or attending MCL26;
      • indirect, consequential, or unforeseeable losses sustained by Show & Shine Winners.
    • Nothing in these Terms excludes MCIA’s liability for:
      • death or personal injury caused by negligence;
      • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
      • any other liability which cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.
    • Subject to clause 11.3, MCIA’s total aggregate liability shall be capped at the greater of £100.00, unless the liability is covered by MCIA’s insurance whereby the cap shall reflect the amount recovered by MCIA under its insurance policies.
    • For the avoidance of doubt, where no insurance recovery is obtained in respect of a relevant claim (whether because no claim is made, the claim is declined, or otherwise), the cap applicable under clause 11.4 shall be the fixed sum specified in that clause.
    • MCIA shall take reasonable care to ensure the safety of the motorcycles whilst displayed at MCL26 but Entrants acknowledge the risk of displaying their motorcycle in a public exhibition environment.
    • MCIA shall accept no responsibility for the loss or damage of valuables left in or on the motorcycle.
    • If a Show & Shine Winner fails to collect their motorcycle at the end of the event, the Show & Shine Winner shall fully indemnify MCIA for any direct or indirect losses, costs, or expenses associated with storage until its collection.
    • MCIA reserve the right to amend, postpone, suspend or cancel MCL26 and / or the Show & Shine feature, in whole or in part, where circumstances beyond its reasonable control make this necessary, including but not limited to adverse weather, public safety concerns, industrial action, acts of terrorism, epidemic or pandemic, government action, or any other event constituting force majeure. In such circumstances, MCIA shall not be liable for any costs, expenses or losses incurred by Entrants.
  12. PUBLICITY AND DATA PROTECTION
    • By entering the Competition, all Entrants consent to the use of their name, and entry (including images submitted as part of their entry) for promotional purposes relating to the Competition and MCL26, without further compensation.
    • MCIA will process personal data provided by Entrants in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”). MCIA’s privacy policy, available at Privacy Policy | MCL26, contains further details on data use and Entrants’ rights.
    • Entrants may withdraw consent for promotional use of their personal data, at any time, by contacting s.mcnally@mcia.co.uk.
    • Entrants grant to MCIA a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use media submitted as part of their entry for the marketing (including on websites, social media and in the press) of MCIA, MCL and future promotions.
    • Entrants shall indemnify, keep indemnified and hold harmless MCIA, from and against any losses, claims, damages, liability, costs (including legal and other professional fees) and expenses incurred by or made against MCIA, as a result of or in connection with any action, demand or claim for infringement of the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  13. Disqualification
    • MCIA reserves the absolute right to withdraw or disqualify entries and / or refuse display of any motorcycle:
      • deemed in breach of these Terms;
      • deemed to present an actual or potential risk to safety;
      • at the instruction of the NEC or its personnel; or
      • where MCIA reasonably believed that there is an actual or potential risk to the reputation of the event, Competition, MCIA or NEC.
    • MCIA reserve the right to refuse entry to, remove or reposition any motorcycle where it reasonably considers this necessary for safety, operational or event management reasons.
  14. General Provisions
    • Any provision within these Terms deemed unlawful or unenforceable shall be considered deleted, without affecting the validity of remaining provisions.
    • MCIA reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Entrants will be informed of any significant changes by email or website update.
    • These Terms constitute the entire agreement between MCIA and Entrants and supersede all prior agreements, communications, and representations.
    • The laws of England and Wales apply to this contract. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This means that you can only bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales.
